Skills Ready BC Engages Students in Fort St. John with Hands-On Workshops
Fort St. John, BC – November 19, 2024 – Skills Ready, an initiative of the Construction Foundation of British Columbia (CFBC), is conducting interactive workshops at four local schools from November 18th to 21st. The participating schools are Upper Pine Elementary, Robert Ogilvie Elementary, Duncan Cran Elementary, and the Energetic Learning Campus.
These workshops, generously supported by Pembina Pipeline, aim to introduce students to the trades through practical activities, such as crafting copper bracelets. This approach not only fosters creativity but also provides insight into potential career paths in the trades sector. The copper bracelet workshop, introduced in 2021, has been well-received in school classrooms across British Columbia.
“Our goal is to inspire the next generation by providing them with hands-on experiences that highlight the opportunities within the trades,” said Rene Ragetli from Skills Ready. “By engaging students in these activities, we hope to ignite a passion for skills that are essential to our communities.”
The Construction Foundation of BC is dedicated to improving the social and economic well-being of communities by supporting education and training in the skilled trades. Through initiatives like Skills Ready, CFBC continues to empower youth and build foundations for empowered futures.
